Watch the 1-minute video to learn the super easy method, using supplies you already have in your kitchen.
Hereβs some extra info to help you succeed:
Donβt use roasted peanuts.
Roasted/salted peanuts may be more delicious, but they can no longer germinate. Make sure you use raw peanuts in the shell, or they wonβt grow.
Rinse and repeat
Itβs very important to rinse your peanuts at least twice a day to prevent bacteria growing. If that happens, youβll end up with a mushy mess instead of pretty new plantsβ¦
Did you know?
Peanuts are not nuts, but legumes! Thatβs the same family as beans, chickpeas and lentilsβ¦
You can try to grow pistachios and almonds in the same way as the peanut though. Weβve also got a tutorial for almonds here.
Did you successfully sprout your peanut?
Time to set it up on water, to grow further. The perfect tool for the job is a porcelain germination plate. It will keep the seed dry and will make your little floating forest look amazing.
